Grief Counselor
Every grief situation is different. Everyone deals with it differently.
Several close people suggested early on that I might want to talk to a grief counsellor. They were right. My parents died some time ago and stepmother the previous summer. This was so very different. The person who knew me better than anyone else ever had, the wisest person in the world was the one who had died.
A paddle acquaintance/friend had been working with a GC, asked the professional if it would be appropriate to pass on her name and then did . The woman who is guiding me though these hard, yet fascinating months is exactly the right sort of person. Her insights, listening, reflection and sense of humour are helping me a lot. (My friend was very kind and very brave to do that for me.)
So I was fortunate. Having lived in this city for most of my lie, I have lots of connections to help with this sort of thing.
