Conversations with David - 1
When I say conversations, I do not mean that I am actually talking to a person, or even believe that David is there in some form talking to me. I say things and use the words that I know he would have used. David's challenging wisdom. These conversations are always out loud. (Yes, I am that weird woman with the purple stripe down by the river who is crying and talking to herself.)
There have been lots of conversations and I will share them gradually.
Liz: I want to die
D: Why do you want to die?
Liz (a bit tentatively): To be with you?
D: No, I'm dead. You can't be with me.
Liz (with more certainty): Because I cannot stand this pain.
D: Do you want the children to feel the way you are feeling now?
There is nothing to add. I cannot wish to be dead. People need me.
